Robin Hood

Concept sketches and posters for Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, done in-house for Universal Pictures at the end of 2009.

These are concept sketches and posters for Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, done in-house at Universal Pictures at the end of 2009. None of these made it to finish, although I understand there was some interest in the first "teaser" poster shown below.
The "teaser" poster which I understand was being considered by the big guys "upstairs" at Universal.
Add floating heads to the teaser poster above, and several days later you have a "montage" poster!
This is the sketch the above two posters came from. When I drew this, I had read the screenplay but not seen any photography or footage, so I had to make up what I thought the characters would look like.
These were intended to be hung together in theater lobbies as a "versus" campaign. Combined, they might even have worked well as a billboard. The poster above it was designed to be a "teaser" for this campaign.
These are title treatments I designed as possibilities for the movie's key-art.
A series of "character banners," with a nod to medieval tapestries. I think these would have looked pretty striking attached to lamp posts and suspended in theater lobbies.
